Bark Abstract

by Ron Pederson

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted December 15, 2011111 views2 comments
From this past July - 4 images stitched together and cropped slightly. This is from the inside of the bark that stripped off of a maple tree section that I was splitting for firewood. Image size was 138mb; vertical dimension represents approx. 5 inches. Typical minor adjustments.

Canon T1i, f10, 100mm macro, 1/2s, ISO-200, tripod

Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

Very interesting Ron, I like the way the dark lines in the bark draw my eye to the interesting formation in the middle, I like the warm color too, but it is very contrasty on my monitor.

Good eye to see the beauty all around. I also find bark, inside or out, can have quite interesting designs to it. I like the design you've captured here but agree it seems a little too contrasty and/or oversharpened.
