Yosemite Chronicles #10

Quiet Autumn on the Merced.
Thanks so much for the comments on my previous post - very much appreciated.
Chris and I had finally finished up in the Bridal Veil area and it was getting towards the late afternoon. I had spied a location the day before that I wanted to return to during the late light in the valley.
This was captured just west of the well known pullout for a view across the Merced of Bridal Veil falls. Just downstream from here is where I captured my "Yosemite Tea Garden" image from 2010 for those who may remember. Anyway, nothing special here, just a quiet, relaxing autumn image along the Merced River in Yosemite. Just a half a day earlier we were stomping around in nearly a foot of snow....
Your comments and critiques are welcome.

Looking forward to seeing you in your winter dress, up next. You sure you have the legs for it?

Ah yes, the good ol' Yosemite Tea Garden Shot...twas a mere 5,783 image critiques ago...
"...there's a lot of dead wood in the bg..." . I think most of the trees are just going dormant having lost their leaves already and not dead. Hey Stan, it's called a forest
And Harley, you bet I've got the legs. Just wait!
Thanks folks,
Lon
There is quietness about this photo that has an appeal and I understand why you would have made this, I think I would have as well. But as others have stated its not hitting home. Not sure why, but I do like it.
I really like the reflections in the water...
You'r gonna need a bigger house to display all your new work...
There is just that out of focus stuff at the top left. I am sure you did not mention it to wait until it gets noticed...

Ok--you got me there! Well, i like the living forest, just wish there were more leaves in it--timing is everything, i don't have to tell you that.
