Rainbow in the Mist
by Mark Seaver
During a mid-afternoon visit to the upper terrace at Mammoth Hot Springs, I was surprised to see a rainbow. It disappeared during the 15 minutes that I walked back and forth trying to capture it and the springs. That's not a surprise as the lowering of the sun in the afternoon sky would cause the rainbow to rise above the point where the mist is dense enough to allow it to show. 10 commentsWonderful image from Yellowstone! The warm and even golden terraces are showcased beautifully and well composed within the larger landscape. The rainbow, a glorious addition that is the icing on the cake.
Only suggestion I have is that this appears to be slanted CCW a bit. At least to me, I didn't measure anything. But judging from the level of the upper pool, it looks slightly tilted to me. Otherwise, beautiful.
