This is an image from the Sonoma Coast, taken back in June. I revisited it a couple evenings ago and had another go at the processing. Your comments and critiques are greatly appreciated!

the stark tonality of this makes it dramatic and a great photo... nice job!

Nice b/w tones Phil. I like the moving water and the comp.

Phil,

Very nice b&w seascape and nice use of the near/far composition. I like the tonalities as Rick mentioned. Although the surf line does well to tie the two sections of the image together, I think the middle of the image is a bit empty - perhaps just lacking a nice wave or something. I'm really interested in the foreground rock and more so the pebbles in the sand and the streaking water. The sky is interesting enough, but it's the foreground that steals it for me.

Very nice b/w image Phil. I quite enjoy the feel of this and think your processing looks great. I especially like the textured feel of the foreground. Nice work!

B&w was an excellent choice here. the fg is particularly nice. I like the empty feel of this image and there's a softness in the sky I find very appealing.

Feels cold. I like the light. The contrast and separation works well.

A very nice b&w conversion, Phil. Love the tones and water highlights. Processing looks spot on to me. The comp seems a little static, perhaps due to the centered position of the fg and mg rocks, but I'm still enjoying the various elements within very much. Happy New Year!
