Hi all,

This was taken back before it got all cold and wet...
I was going for a very soft, blurred look, with just the foremost tips of the petals in focus, and I really liked the glow that the center seemed to give off, and the colors here...but perhaps this look isn't pleasing to others at all.

Nikon D200, 60mm, f/4.2, 1/160, ISO 320, cropped slightly from top down.
All comments/critiques appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jaymes

I think you achieved the look you were aiming for but, for my tastes, it leaves too much of the subject oof. There's not enough detail to hold my attention. The colors are lovely and the warmth of the center plays very nicely with the cooler petals. It's probably perfect for what you wanted to do but the super-soft look just isn't my cup of tea. Others may love it

Jaymes, I'm one who does love this look, and I'd love to be able to do this as well as you did. Beautiful.

I like the shallow dof look. I might crop it to more of a landscape mode. :toast:

I love the softness and think there is just enough in focus. Do wish it were in a horizontal format so that I could see all of the flower.

I am really digging the color and DOF here.. it just seems a little tight, and I like the landscape composition suggestion..

Hi Jaymes :wavey: Love the colors, and DOF choice :jump: A very pleasing capture, perhaps, a horizontal format would have been a even better choice
