Caught this little Lesser Antillean Whistling Tree Frog out in the open at night, after doing a lot of listening and searching, while on vacation in Jamaica

Canon 5DMII, Canon 100mm Macro, 1/160 at f/9.0, ISO 400, manual exposure with flash.

Comments and Critiques hoped for!

Hali, excellent capture. The perch and pose are great with nice eye contact. The subject is perfectly positioned in the frame. I do find the flash a little strong for my tastes, but let's see what others think.

Nice find! I love the little frogs. Great pose and eye. A bit over-flashed, imo also - but could be minimized with a little more PS work.

I don't know anything about flash as far as what's good and what isn't or about processing, but this is so sharp and clear, with the frog in a wonderful position.

great capture, the frog looks almost transparent in places. You did well to find him in the dark.

Hali, love the pose on this little guy or gal! I too find the flash a bit strong, but that can easily be toned down. Nice find!

Beautiful comp, but agree with Scott the flash seems to be a bit strong. However it's a great shot. :wavey:

Hi Hali :wavey: A fine capture of this marvelous creature!! great composition and good choice of focus. have never seen this frog, but by the light on the branch, I agree with Scott about the flash being a bit strong
