Still no macro lens but I keep hoping and saving. These ice formations made me think of bedroom slippers (not sure why) Anyway...early morning on my favorite stream. Shot off my tripod. Is there enough detail in the lower left half to warrant including it? I did because I love the colors and the flow of water through the grasses. does it work for anyone else? Thanks for looking.

I really like the lower left half because of the colors and the light. Great colors and light throughout the image.

Very interesting and colorful image, Nancy. I've looked at this several times, and I am still not sure I understand what is going on here - specifically, what is causing the electric orange and green colors under the water. However, I like the colors and the ice shapes, as well as the overall abstract look of this. I think this find had potential for even closer macros. Hope you get a macro lens soon, although you seem to be doing pretty well as is.

This is a really interesting abstract Nancy, those colors are very vibrant and the shapes are intriguing.

I have also seen these interesting ice formations that you have captured. I live along a creek and enjoy watching all the designs and forms the ice makes which can be constantly changing. Not so much this year though; it's been too warm. I guess that's not a problem though where you live (Alaska right?). The colors and the forms of the ice make this an interesting ice abstract. I like your POV of looking down on the water. I hope you can get your macro lens soon; I'm sure you will love it!

Hi Nancy :wavey: I agree with barbara, I would crop to top half,, and just leave the ice on the rt centre section. the bottom orange reflections are delightful
