Out walking the dog yesterday and for the first time in a long while I decided to bring the camera along.
Alberta Blue Spruce
90MM Lens
ISO 200
1/200 sec.f3.5
handheld as the dog and tripod don't mix,all so sharp images and dog a little harder to achieve!! Cheers
It feels like a life time since I last had an image to post, but with the holidays over I am ready to get back on track and get shooting again! :wavey:

Lorna: Well you've certainly started your "reign":jump: as moderator with a wonderful image. Really good find and I especially like the color palette. A touch more DOF to get the tip of the leaf sharp would make this a bit better for me but I like it a lot as is. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Lorna, I like you enjoy making photos of things that are not so commonly photographed. Love the cool blue-ish tones and the texture on the leaf with a nice curl

I so identify with the whole camera/dog thing. These came out beautifully and the fallen leaf is a whimsical touch. Very nice

I really like the image. It is unique, something that most of us would walk past and not pay any attention to. Fine light.

The composition (as well as the blue spruce) is wonderful Lorna. I like the leaf (icing on the cake) and how the OOF spruce needles in the BG frame the image. I want to add my "Welcome" to your new assignment as co moderator in the Flora Gallery, you and your experience in shooting flora images, combined with your co moderators helps to put the Flora Gallery at the top of many photographers list! :toast: :toast: :toast:

There's a quality to this I can't quite put my finger on, Lorna. I can say I like it immensely. The curling leaf seems almost to brood over the cones - very atmospheric !

I really like the color contrast between the blue of the spruce needles and the brown leaf.

Sweet! Enjoyable dof that is nicely blended with the light that fades in b/g. If I had one minor (beside sharpening the leaf tip...) it would be the weight is heavy to the left...but still centered. The brown color and shape is a great contrast to the spiky blues. Well done!!
