Newport Wetlands

Taken on a very foggy and frosty morning at the local wetlands. The frost is a little hard to see at this size, but shows up better on the larger file. Nov. 18, 2011, Newport Wetlands, Mill Creek MetroParks, Youngstown, Ohio. Comments appreciated. (Specifically, how's the comp/color?)

IMO, the color looks quite natural and well balanced. The frost is a nice detail in the larger version. A very fine image, for my tastes.

Color looks excellent to me. I like the scene overall. I'm sure it was a challenge to find a good composition but this works quite well in my opinion. The frost and touch of fog certainly enhance the mood.

The color looks a little too saturated for me, but on this forum, I'm sure I'll be overruled. Otherwise, it's a pretty scene.

It is difficult to judge color when you were not there Scott. I like the subtlety of the overall color and the vibrant leaves do add some additional interest to the image. Works well for me overall.

Very nice, Scott. Color is good for a winter/late fall scene.

Hey, that looks like an amazing place. I love the colors and the fog, atmosphere going on. The two trees on the left are a bit too dominant in the frame for me. I like them, but want to see more of the background. I think this would work beautifully with everything else and no trees in the left foreground.

Scott,

Busy with tons of detail, but I really think this comes together beautifully and I'm really loving this. The receding shoreline creates some depth and the variety of color really lets the eye meander around the scene. this is my kind of scene and image.

I can see Dan's comment about saturation, but IMHO, if you just backed off green, you'd be good to go. and of course that's all subjective and a personal decision anyway. I'm really enjoying this one.

I really like this image. It has a very painterly feel to it. The colors are great and the fog adds a lot to the image.

Very nice work here Scott. I love scenes like this and enjoy this one very much. There is a wonderful mood captured here. I could see backing off the green just a bit too but wonderful either way. :toast:

Scott, your image reflects the atmosphere wonderfully to me. I appreciate the frost together with the last autumn colors. The trees at the left anchore the composition well for me, while the riverbank and the fog in the distance add a sense of depth. Furthermore, especially the larger version reveals delightful details of the foreground elements to me.
