Nice shot Cindy! I like the reflected light on the ice, but the tree feels a little tight on the left.
I'm thinking a slight shift to the left to open up a little space and include more of the color in the sky may have looked nice too.
I see a little piece of branch coming in that makes me think there might be another tree just out of the frame though, so that may not have been possible.

Derek
Here is the uncropped version. What do you think? I still like the first one better.

IMO, there isn't that much difference between the two versions but I agree that the cropped one is a bit better. Nice light

Cindy,
I like the extra space in your uncropped version. the added room does make a difference. for me though, the frozen marsh is rather busy with not a whole lot of interest. I know it's cold and frozen and I like the blue tones, but at this web size it's harder to appreciate it. The silhouetted tree against the sunset sky is the story and image here. Personally, I'd consider a much more significant crop and cut this in half so you have nearly a new vertical that just includes the tree and includes some of the most interesting details of the marsh.
Hard to tell at this size, but it looks like the tree has some slight haloing going on either from sharpening or compression artifacts, but not too bad.
