Hesperaloe parviflora plant at the base of a Texas Oak, during a rare snow event. AKA Red Yucca, Hummingbird Yucca, and Samandoque.
It produces a salmon colored blossom late spring, early summer that attracts hummers. Native to the Chihuahuan desert of west Texas.
F/14, 1/80th, ISO 250, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8

The b&w really brings out the spiky leaves and snow. Feels a little tight on the bottom but that doesn't take away any of the energy this shot hums with. Very nice

I like the composition and the DOF, I could wish for more balance, white to black.

Lovely, beautifully composed pano, Howard ! Like the b & w for this - the foreground leaves stand out so sharply against the shimmering whites in the bg.

This works really well in B&W Howard, you really get the feeling of a winter snow fall. Nicely seen !

Your treatment really makes the leaves of the Yucca stand out and they create a very dynamic image. Not that I know how to do it, but I think this would look great if you returned the green to the leaves.
