A very nice shot. The BG colors compliment the colors of the bird nicely and I especially like the way the green and cinnamon colors in the head show so well. It's also an interesting pose and the detail is excellent. The only thing I would suggest would be to try and bring out a little more detail in the shadow area of the face but that could just be my monitor. Overall it is a very nice shot and I wish I could get one that good but I have only seen these guys at a great distance so far and as you mentioned they are difficult to get close to.

Rich, a very difficult exposure handled expertly. The light is super and the resulting colors are stunning. On my calibrated monitor the detail in the shadow areas is as expected and lends nice depth. Very nicely done.

One of favorite colored ducks and like you mentioned very difficult to get a good shot. I like the eye contact and the green iridescent shine.

Excellent job on the Teal, Richard. I like the pose-it's always difficult to get a clear eye in a grooming bird.

To start: amazing capture of this difficult to approach bird. Colors, reflection, pose : all spot on ! I am not 100% sure, but it looks a little over sharpened to me, but it could also be texture of the feathers - but other than that I think it's first rate ! Cheers, Hans

Really lovely. I like the golden water. Colors in the bird and rich and vibrant. Pattern on the bird is exquisitely detailed and sharp. Well done.

It seems that during duck hunting season these guys are especially elusive. I like the lighting and the pose. :toast:
