The light is sensational Rainer! The mist rising off the water is also wonderful.

Great winter scene. I love the backlight and how you composed this scene. Very well done

A lot to look at here with all the details, but you pulled it off superbly, Rainer. You have a sensational eye with these square compositions.

Exposure-wise this is quite a challenge. You managed it very well and also captured the mood of the moment.

Rainer, your image makes me feel like standing in the middle of the scene. I think you aptly utilized the sun star to show all the brightness of this wintry day. The natural colors are convincing to me.

I have to dissent here. I love the scene, but this is really tough light to work with, and while sometimes sunstars work well, here i just find it distracting. I cant tell whether the hazy portion below the sun is flare or mist, im assuming flare (??) The comp feels quite busy to me, but evidently im in the minority here, just giving you my take. I think maybe a tighter comp of just the stream and the snow pillows on the left side might have worked better for me.

I think this is perfect. I like the snow balls in the foreground, textures in the middle ground, and sunstar in the background. Tough light, but a very cohesive image.
