Love your caption, Charlie... fluffy indeed. Is this one of the Snowies that has shown up further South than usual this year? (I actually photographed one in NJ last month!) One of my favorite things about your image is that because of the way the bird is perched, we get a nice view of his very feathered legs and feet. They look massive relative to the bird's size.

Very cool shot Charlie. Love the fluffed up look. Nice habitat and great look at the legs and feet. There is a slight blue color cast on the shaded side areas and toward the tail. If this were mine, I would remove that cast. Awesome shot.

Nice shot! Someone definitely ruffled his/her feathers. The feet look huge. Good job of finding an opening through the grass stems for a clear shot.

Nice pose. I agree with Ron about warming it up a little.

Wonderful capture; great title. I agree with the others about the slight blue cast. You got this ins the San Diego area?

Thanks all. This was taken last week up in Washington just before the blizzard hit. They may come to San Diego yet the way things are going. I hear that one showed up in Hawaii.

Very cool pose, this makes me want to get home. It looks slightly dark on my current monitor. :toast:

I love that pose - made me smile. Great setting too. There's just enough eye color to make this work well for me. Glad to see your owl quest was a great success Charlie. If this were mine I might try brightening the image a bit.
