I had two mornings of great conditions for shooting landing geese at the NE end of the farm loop. they were coming in and landing in the field just across the ditch from the road, very close. The challenges were isolating subjects, and keeping them in the frame. This one could perhaps use more room on the top and bottom, but this is full frame vertically, so for now I have left it as is. (Note: repost added below)

I appreciate your critiques and comments. Please view the larger version if possible.

This is outstanding Brian. The light and colors are super. The flight angle of the bird, wing position, and BG really takes this over the top. I might add a bit more room left to take the comp even further from square then it is now. Love the detail in the bird. Really well done

That's certianly cutting things close. But the image quality, detail, exposure, light and composition are so nice that it doesn't matter here.

I really like the pose, comp, detail, exposure etc. I agree with your own critique that a bit more head room would be nice. If you printed this I would add canvas to the top.

Excellent exposure work here Brian, nice details. Great landing pose, and I think the complimentary background is great too.

Brian, just an outstanding image. Love the wing position and the detail, particularly the creases visible in the neck. I do think Ron B's suggestion would enhance this comp if you have the room on the left side, but the image stands strong as posted. Great job!

This is excellent. IMO the only thing keeping this image from being a home run is the tightness. And if it were mine I wouldn't have any significant qualms about adding the canvas.

very good all around. maybe some room left and top would give an additional push as you already said.

Brian the repost does allow more room certainly, but I'm very cool with the image as originally presented.

I know this spot well. Nice job of fitting him in the frame Brian. Very good techs, but as others, the obvious is how tight this is. I saw the repost and like it better, but if it were mine, I might add a touch of canvas to the top also...just a touch...if not, when you go to print and frame it, the wing is going to be real close to being clipped....especially if you did a canvas wrap.

Wonderful landing pose with excellent detail on the larger version. I happen to like the original even though it is a bit tight on the top but also feel that Rich D said it best. A little tight but the IQ of this makes this stand out. Nice job in getting this shot, way to go.
