Blue Heron

I believe this is my first post to avian. My infrequent avian images can't compare with the high level avian images regularly posted here. Today, however, I was working on some older film images and I came across this blue heron photo which I took a few years ago early one fall morning. After doing a little more processing of it, including some branch cloning, I decided to post it here for comment/criticism. Blue Heron, Lake Newport, Mill Creek MetroParks, Youngstown, Oh. Nikon F5, 500f4, velvia. Slightly larger image included. Comments/suggestions welcome.

neat shot, Scott. great colors, reflection, and composition. the way the water color transitions more or less right at the water/reflection line is surreal and really cool. really like the curving branch too.

I really like the comp Scott. The early morning Fall light is great. The colors look a bit too saturated on my monitor, but that is just my taste.

A beautiful image, very well composed- Great reflection and lovely palette- Agree with Ron about color saturation, but probably that's the result of the digital conversion from Velvia film- Thanks for sharing, Fabio

That is a really cool composition with the curve of the branches & the reflections of the branches & the heron! I like it a lot!

I very much like this composition...a different kind for a GBH. Colors look over saturated to me, but you have nice light, detail and a great reflection. Sharon

Interesting setting and reflections. Composition works well for me but I agree with the previous comments about over saturation.
