Early Spring

Another attempt at taming the early spring chaos. I've tried many times to photograph swamp maples in spring. The first blush of color is always beautiful but the bare branches of the rest of the swamp species make for a tangled back drop. Again I'm curious to see if others here find any order in this image.

Hey David,

What a marvelous scene :toast:
Its a visual feast when land and reflection seamlessly blend together so naturally. Great pop of colors to make this stand out against the ordered chaos.
Nicely done

Quite a chaotic scene but the vibrant color throughout really helps to tie this together. Nice work.

This really works for me, David. I like the colors, their reflection, and the way they pop against that background. Great job with such tricky, chaotic elements.

I think you're doing well with the chaos. I don't think I like it as much as the last one, but I do like it.

I'm a sucker for red, so naturally, I like this one more.
The color brings a lovely rhythm and compels the attention be given to it foremost before the background.

Early spring. Feb 1 is early spring? Lucky you. I like the concept, but it maybe feels a bit busy. The red buds/leaves just don't seem to provide enough of a focal point.

Edit: Just looked at the larger version. It maybe busy, but I'm enjoying the detail in the larger version.

You have definitely tamed the chaos in my opinion, with the tree trunks on the left and the branches that give just enough order, and of course the beautiful reds of the maples. The larger image shows this much better. An outstanding image.
And congratulations on the weekly pick for "Altered State II"; well deserved.

The heavily ladden branches with the nice spacing draw your eye down to the water and the tighter grouping of red in the reflection. This makes for a very nice balance... :toast:

Beautiful David. This has a wonderful and graceful flow to it, and the color is grand. No nits at all.

The glow of the red maples stand out nicely from tangle. This image has a nice upper left to lower right flow with the lowest cluster and it's reflection creating a resting point.
