I go to Brazos Bend State Park frequently, as it is near my home. This day, I captured a great shot of this green heron. When I looked at the photo on my PC, I was surprised by his small, but graphic. statement. I think he was telling me what he thought of photographers taking his picture!

Interesting setting with vibrant color. Detail is lacking, though, for such a close subject. What were the shooting parameters for this, and is this a big crop with noise reduction applied?

Pretty habitat . A lower angle would have been nice and I wonder if the lack of detail is from NR? I like the view of the back foot as well.

My original posting is over-processed. ..I worked on this photo quite a while ago. I can see, now, how much my PP "eye" has changed. Here is the original. The first posting was neither cropped nor had any NR . I have attached a re-post of the same photo, but with just the heron sharpened. No other pp.

I still think this needs some pp other than just the sharpening (color cast and a few other tweaks)...but, I wanted to post a "clean copy" for you to view and critique.

Before I process this again, I'd like some advice on what to tweak. The color cast is a little blue...duckweed is bright, lime green. What suggestions do you have?
Thanks in advance

I think the colors look quite good in the original image, the original is a little centered, a small crop from just the left and the top would help improve the comp. This looks great for a point and shoot image :toast:
