Tulum Nights
by Scott Smorra
This is a night image of the stars above the Caribbean in Tulum, Mexico. The waves and clouds were illuminated by a waxing quarter moon. Tulum is a perfect place for night photography, since there is very little ambient light. The only problem I had was finding a clear night. We spent 4 nights here on a recent vacation and this was the only night the stars were out.
Nikon D7000, 10-24 Nikkor Dx at 10mm
25 sec at f/3.5, ISO 1600, single exposure with lots of PP in LR3 & CS5
Thanks for taking a look and for any C&C. Larger version is provided. Please view in a dark room to get the full effect.

A great scene well captured and processed.
I really like the exposure and the color that you coaxed out of it.
Nicely done.
