Snowy Owl on Granary

Hi Everyone! This is another picture of the snowy owl I posted earlier. She only gave us a minute or so perched on a fence post before she flew over to the top of this granary. She didn't pay us much attention so we were able to move around and find the perfect angle.

I know this isn't a "normal" owl picture and of course at first I would have loved to get closer, but I really liked the lines of the granaries and worked hard to find an angle that I thought worked best. Even though I would have liked her to have landed on some amazing perch like the pictures from the coast this year, I like how this is a VERY normal perch for the snowy owls in Alberta when they come down during the winter. I also like the overall lighting and the way it makes the granaries look.

Thanks for looking!

Like the composition, I really like the lines also. The red rim at the top brings your eye to the owl. Nice work!

The angles,, textures, and colors (the red cap on top is great) make a fine image in their own right. The owl is a nice bonus and makes an interesting scene. While it may seem unnatural, I bet there is a very good reason for it to be here. Lots of rodents running around, I'm sure working over any spillage. Thanks for sharing.

Great lines in this image, Jenaya. I like the composition and the minimalist palette. The Owl makes a great focal point for the image. Well done.
