Caracara returns

This photo was taken a Viera Wetlands (Florida). My previous post captured the Caracara eating on a Coot, this is part of the same sequence. This is actually the second time he flew in, I misses the first when I set my camera down for just a moment (we know that never happens). I was upset at the missed opportunity, until someone on a lawnmower came down the road. Thank you lawnmower guy! The Caracara tried to take his meal with him, but dropped it and moments later returning to finish.

I think the road is distracting, but not much I can do.

Thanks for your comments they are much appreciated

I like the flight pose with those extended feathers very much. The road doesn't bother me too much. When I first looked at the shot I just assumed it was a bare patch on the ground. The hardware on the ankles is interesting as well although it does detract from the naturalness of the shot a little bit. Overall a really nice shot.

The larger version shows some very nice detail and I like the spread tail feathers. Road is not distracting to me because my attention is drawn right to the orange beak and then the bird. Nice shot

Great flight pose, with the extended wings. The road doesn't bother me at all. However, I'd personally clean up that bit of long bright grass intersecting the tail.
Super image!
