Red Fox on Alert

Taken two years ago in Wyoming, this female was quite a mom. She had a litter of 8 pups!
Over the course of a few hours, I was able to get her trust enough to get within several feet of the den. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending how one views it, these fox were more adapted to human presence from being in the middle of town.
Taken with a Nikon D90, with 200mm Nikon lens, f 7.
To bring out detail and contrast, I used Nik color efex filters.

Ken, nice shot of the vixen. I would have croped this as a verticle instead of a horizontal image, would have cut down on the amount of OOF fence in the BG. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with John, if you cropped some off the left side, putting more room in front of the fox, this would be a wonderful portrait!

She looks great. The fence is a distraction, and if you have enough pixels I would go with the vertical crop, sacrificing the a bit of her back and getting rid of that post in the top left center. Processing looks nice and the eye reflectivity is excellent.
