Excellent submission to the theme, Sandy. The grass is an attractive subject, and the BG looks like it was painted. I like the balance between the BG and subject achieved through the semi-pano crop.

Hi Sandy. Like the mottled background very much as well as the sharp details in the FG grass.

Cheers,

Carol

Stunning photo, Sandy! Love the purple and green color combo of this image. Also like your DOF choice to make the BG so softly blurred. At first I was wishing the complete grass and stem were all in focus, but the more I look at it the more I like how the bottom of the grass and stem just softly blend into the BG. It does have a painted feel as Scott indicated.

Another shot with a lovely simple subject and coordinating wash of warm colors in the background. My details bug would like to see the base of the seed head sharp also, but that's a minor nit on a great job of seeing.

Delightful! Makes me feel happy.
Most of us don't even see the startling colors and lovely lines in such tiny subjects.

Nice pastel palette. I am partial to grass close-ups. I used to get the seeds of this plant in my socks when I was a kid.

Sandy, I like the nice simplicity, and the fuchsia of the grass head against the brighter greens.
