Soft Baker River

An iconic big river in Western Patagonia is the Baker River. This picture was made at dawn in a sector only 2 miles downstream from its origin as the only outlet of Bertrand Lake.

I saw this rock a couple of days earlier and decided to wait for the right light and, hopefully, some clouds in the sky. Finally I setup the tripod and made different compositions with this rock in the foreground and the mountains-and-sky triangle in the background. I think this one got an overall sense of the Patagonian scenery.

Comments and opinions are absolutelly welcome!

Pretty sweet. Very graphic with the hills going to black. Nice decision and well executed

I think the image is beautiful. I would open up the shadows slightly being solid black. Did you bracket the scene for dynamic range? Nice shot. :toast:

What has happened to this forum as of late. One comment other than my own? Sorry about that. The image is more deserving.
