This is a classic winter scene. I shot this one late afternoon on a cold winter's day in february. It was about 25 degrees below zero (Celsius). I was snowshoeing in the area of Les Prés d'Orvin/Switzerland.

Techs:Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED VR @ 28mm, Iso:200, 1/125sec,f114, polarizer

Yes Bill, definitely a classic winter scene. I like the texture in the snow.

Hi Bill, I think this is a fine image. And I also think your work has grown my leaps and bounds. Snow is well exposed and I think you have a fine composition with interesting detail and foreground interest.

Oh yes, this is so classic-looking. I enjoy this just as it is, but I am wondering if it migth look even better with a little bit more of the scene were visible on the rigth. Of course, I don't know what's there, but if the area to the right, outside of this frame, looks as beautiful as the rest, I would just love to see more. Guess I can't get enough!

The trees are so crisp and clear -- it definitely has a very cold feeling to it. I like how you show the texture of the foreground snow, and the diagonal slope. The mounds of snow don't really jump out at me as an ideal foreground though. I realize there isn't much else to work with, but they don't seem to compliment the trees very well.

Bill,

I just love the purity and clarity here. And the color - wow, reminds me of an old Kodak Ektachrome or an early saturated slide film. This is wonderful, no nits or suggestions.

Absolutelly well executed classic. The blu sky is perfect as are the whites of the snow.

The diagonal takes this beyond "classic" in my mind. Adds a dynamic twist.

Bill, your image makes me feel like breathing the icy air. A plain composition that works very well for me.
