This male pheasant was attracted to some rotten fruit that was near a waterhole in a dry creek bed in western Thailand.

Removed some highlights, full frame

cheers

Nice image of the silver in its environment. Looks like you had some iffy light to work with. Well done. TFS

Wow, this looks like a tough one to expose properly and you did really well. An awesome bird.

Mighty handsome bird. I'll bet fly tiers love those beautiful feathers. When I looked the bird over, I was quite attracted to the red on the face as it looked just like a mask. And that led to rememberingf the quote from the old Lone Ranger TV show: Who was that masked man?" But seriously, you got s great image that's nicely composed with the bird in it's environment (at last I assume it is), nicely exposed, and with great detail. Good work.

Another amazing bird, Rob. Good work on what appears to have been tough light. The brightness on the tail is a bit distracting, but I think the rest of the image is strong enough to carry the eye past the bright areas. The detail in the larger image is stunning.

wow--looks great, especially at 1/30, Rob, that is impressive. love those crazy patterns in the back and wing coverts. the little orangish brown area in front of the bill is a small nit for me, I might try darkening it a little so it blends with the darker colors just above and below it.

An interesting looking pheasant and nice job dealing with the light/shadows, good detail on the larger image for 1/30 sec, way to go.
