Since there are a few tree-scapes popping up I thought I'd throw one into the mix as I am waaaay behind with processing landscape imagery from 2011 and early 2012 (this one is from 2009).

An iconic camelthorn acacia on a dune in the Kalahari desert. These trees sustain a magnitude of lifeforms and form the basis of soil nutrition and anchoring in this semi-desert.

The whispy cirrus clouds added some interest to the sky here, and the B&W conversion was on the cards from the get-go.

Techs:
Canon 1000D with 18-55mm IS @ 32mm
f11 @ 1/250 SS @ ISO-200

Very interesting clouds, Morkel. I thought this is a long exposure shot when I looked at the thumbnail.

i love the lines in the sky here - so much so that i ind the trees almost distracting. i think they could almost stand alone with something very simple in the FG!!

Morkel, the clouds are quiet amazing. Black & white conversion works for me, too. I like this one a lot.

Those clouds make the image. My first thought was that there was considerable movement in the clouds, but that can't be at 1/250. Very cool.
