Another must see location if travelling in Oregon, imo! Especially if you are in the area of Sparks Lake. Maybe only 1 1/2 hours away from one another. Anyway it's a pretty iconic spot, but I had to have my shot from there too. Used Marks' advice for keeping the lens dry and finding a comp. Thanks Mark, this is my best result yet from at least a few trips there trying. Had my 18-70 as wide as it would go for this. A couple more mm would have been nice! This is one of the most impressive waterfalls I have ever stood in front of. I mean for a little waterfall of only 160-200 feet.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Perhaps some of TKs luminosity masking to lighten up the greens just a little but you handled the exposure on the water perfectly. I like it a lot.
I would love to visit this place someday.

I don't see any green cast in the water myself. maybe a little grfeyish. I will try and remove any green and maybe bring up the white point just a hair more.
About the log in the urc, yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but would have had to dramatically alter my comp to do much about it. Did shoot a vertical where it's not an issue, but I still prefer this landscape presentation better.
As for the name and location. It's Proxy Falls, located on the west side of the three sisters. If you go southwest out of Sisters, Oregon, and over McKenzie Pass, you will come to a marked trailhead. It's a beautiful forest there, and the falls is truly spectacular.
Thanks,
Chris

When was this made, anyway?
In a perfect world, the fallen tree wouldn't be there, but it really doesn't bother much. It's how it looks out there, ya know? Actually people that have never been there don't realize the half dozen or so huge fallen trees cris crossing the area behind this vantage point. It's actually kind of amazing that the area below the falls isn't cluttered up with more stuff.
This was taken last week in October, last fall.
