Picked from my garden this afternoon. A stack (using Helicon) of five manually focused images. Shot in the studio with studio flash lighting.

The Hellebore is always surprising. I have never seen before this type of flower that is splendid. Thanks for sharing Rob.
Take care.

I enjoy Hellebores but at this point only have two kinds. I haven't seen this one before. They have such an intriguing and unusual flower; you have showcased its uniqueness and beauty very well in this photo! Good lighting control and great details from your stack. I also like the angled stem comp. Great shot, Rob!

I love this, Rob! Excellent light, focus, and color. I like the slightly turned petal on the left.

Thank you, Barbara. I must admit that over the years I have found it difficult to get as good lighting for floral shots shot outdoors. The quality and control of studio flash indoors always gives the best results. Of course you do lose the contextual background of an outdoor shot, but the light is always better in the studio. I have got my Nissin flashgun working with wireless flash now, so I can shoot outdoors with the flash gun remote from the camera, but you still lose the big diffused light of a studio flash head, which is what gives some of my shots that very soft light and brings out all the colours and detail.

And, of course, stacking a shot outdoors can be a problem in the wind!
