Descent of Winter

I shot this image the same day as my recent post in Man and Nature. Lon recommended decreased contrast and a little less sharpening on that one. Perhaps good suggestions for this one as well. I confess to being somewhat heavy-handed with the saturation slider.

Wow--with the web conversion it really came out oversharpened.

I think the colors are nice and the comp. is good, but you might back off on the sharpening some.

Hi Chad, Yes, I see what you mean about the web version. As Richard mentioned backing off on some sharpening might help and maybe being hurt by some compression as well. It is a wonderful looking scene and I like the snow topping it off!

This is a beautiful comp Chad. I see what you mean about being a little heavy with the saturation. This coming from someone that is always too heavy on the saturation as well! Try backing it off a bit and I feel it would make the image more natural looking.

Beautiful scene. A little too much saturation, as you said. (something I'm often guilty of as well) Tone down just a bit and it will be an excellent image.

Lots of great color and texture here. For whatever reason, the even light is seems to create a loss of depth. This almost feels telephoto.

Nice composition with the small stream and colorful trees.
