Yellow bells...

The Winter Hazel (Corylopsis spicata) is one of the earliest shrubs to be flowering in spring. I love the pale yellow bell-like flowers. Even in darker weather they look cheerful.

The details in the flowers are great and I love the warm yellow throughout the image. I think that a crop from the right to move the flowers off center would add a dynamic feeling.

I like the monochromatic treatment of flower and background. Very delicate.

Love the flower and the b/g. Although It makes me wonder how it would look more in one of the 1/3 comp. Just a thought.

Ellen, lovely image, but I agree with several others about a tighter crop on the right to move the subject off center a bit. Very nice color and details.

Nice capture and I agree that a slight cropping would make a difference.

Beautiful color and bg. I agree with the others who suggested a crop from the right.
