A Spring Morning

This is a picture I made last week while out early one morning. Besides the WI River close by and lots of marsh lands we also have a couple of nice small lakes within 2-3 miles of my home. I made this picture on Long Lake in the early morning light. I enjoyed the warm light, new leaves and reflection in the lake, and just being there was the best thing of all. This has been a wonderful spring so far! Thanks for taking time to look.
Canon, 70-300L @180, iso 100, f/8 and 1/125.

This tree simply glows spring, Nick. Beautiful light and color. Really like how the darker background forest makes these leaves sing. Gorgeous.

Hi Nick,

This is very nice. Personally, I find the reflection the most appealing part of the image. Did you take any shots focusing more on that? I'd favor a slight crop off the top of this image. Processing looks great. Nice presentation.

Thank you for your comments so far.
Michael, I really liked the reflection here too, but for some reason I didn't photograph just that...and I don't really know why. Thanks much! Nick

Some nice glowing light here and pretty reflection textures, though I find the separation of the tree from the background and framing of the tree in general to be a little cluttered. Not to the point of ruining the image or anything, just not separated as perfectly as could be. That's just nature for you.

That is some sweet morning light, Nick. It highlights the fresh spring growth and imparts such a lush look. Very nice reflection BTW. I could also see this working with a small crop from the top. :toast:

Nick, again the inimitable reflection brings your image to life for me. I do enjoy the composition anchored by the trunk and offering such delightful details in the foliage. One of my top favorite spring shots so far.

This is really nice, Nick. I like how you isolate such a strong subject from what must've been a chaotic scene.

Thanks very much to all of you for your thoughts on this! Always appreciate your help.
Tony, I really liked the light here and for me it was just trying to single out something to hopefully make a shot that wasn't to cluttered, and your thoughts are right on target!
Thanks all, Nick

Nice mood in this image, i like the choice of processing too. Spirit of east coast spring shines though it.
