Another shot of some California poppies from a few weeks ago. I haven't often come across a couple of blooms that are virtual mirror images of each other, but these certainly were. It was difficult to get them to line up perfectly and get shots off in between little gusts of wind. This is one that came out just about right. I might have preferred something closer to absolute symmetry between the two blooms. But on reflection, I think it works just fine.

All critiques and comments are greatly appreciated.

Canon 5DII, Tamron 90mm at f/2.8 for 1/160 second (ISO 100). I used a diffuser to soften the light.

Symmetry is close enough to perfect for me. In fact, I think it's better than a mirror image.
The limited DOF looks great -- the bokeh provides a nice, glowing backdrop to the sharp FG petals.

Nice find! The lighting is really pretty against the dark green background.

You capture these Poppies so well, Phil. I remember many beauties from the previous years. Very nice frame for the twins here. Good lighting close to the top of the poppies and an excellent darkish smooth background to make the poppies stand out.

Excellent light & colors. I'm not quite sure about the blured bottom part. Nicely done.

A beautiful capture, Phil! Those orange colors are superb, and they pop so well...I like the depth of field, too, great work.

Vibrant and lively! They could be twins ....but ...wait...nope. Light and dark b/g really adds rich and deep colors. Nice capture!

I think there's enough symmetry here to catch the eye and attract attention. You've also got the right dof to convey a sense of motion. I can look at this and be there in a sunny field watching the poppies sway in the breeze.
