Caspian??

I have not seen these birds along the St. Lawrence River before, but maybe I just never really looked. Seems to have black eyes and the tail feathers are short. I am guessing they are Caspian Terns. Are the whites too bright on these?

Nikon D300, AF-300 with a TC20 converter on a tripod (in strong wind)
ISO 400, F8 1/350. Exp Com at -1

Thanks in advance

Yes, they are Caspians Lindy. I like your comp and the water moving over the rocks here. The birds look a bit soft, but it sounds like you had difficult conditions to work with. :toast:

Good habitat shot, Lindy. Beautiful birds, aren't they. The whites look okay to me, and I really like the "habitat" part of the image, too.

Incidentally, I have trouble with sharpness when using the 300/TC-20 combo, too. Seems to me, I do better with the 300/TC-14 combo unless my technique is flawless, which it certainly isn't!
