Great B. Hawk, Anaconda
by Nate Chappell
Here's a shot that I took on our tour of the Ibera Marshes in Argentina last summer. We found a pair of Great Black Hawks which were feeding on what the guides thought was a young Yellow Anaconda. They didn't think the hawks had killed the snake, rather that the snake had died because of unusually cold weather a few days earlier. This bird actually tried to pick up the snake and fly off with it when we approached in our boats but of course the snake was way too heavy. It's about 75% of FF.
