Icy Reflections

This photo is from an unexpectedly rich evening of image making last week. Between the scattered sunshine, bountiful icebergs, glassy reflections, and constantly changing clouds I felt a heightened awareness of just how beautiful this world is - how blessed I am to live in it.

Thanks for looking.

Very dramatic and beautiful in b&w. The larger version is much nicer to look at and I'm sure a a wall sized version would be even better.

Paul M. - Taking the time to see the quality details in a web sized image is something I find to be fairly unique to NPN. I appreciate your doing so.

Mark S. - The scene was gorgeous in person, but as usual, the black and white treatment allowed a dramatizing of contrast that makes the photo more engaging as a representation.

The structure and fine details in cloulds and ice add to the drama of the scene Kent. The drama and beauty really comes through in the larger version. Wonderful B&W conversion.

This works well in black & white. It looks very dramatic. The large version is a must.

Really nice image! I like the separation between the ice and surroundings, especially in the foreground. The clouds were in just the right spot, and so were you. Also, the B+W is great here...

Wow! What a dramatic image! The B/W treatment works perfectly for this scene and really helps enhance the overall mood.. Great tones throughout for the eyes to explore. I really like the way the clouds are creeping in from behind.

This is really nice, Kent. The large version is really worth the look. A beautiful and dramatic scene where b/w has worked wonderfully. It must have felt awesome being there! Excellent!

Lots of subtly appealing elements here and the range of tones makes for a fine B&W. I like the wide open feel of this, with the ice retreating out into open water, the line of hills receding to the sea (or far shore), etc.

Very well done, Kent. I really like the framed effect and the textures in the clouds and elsewhere in the scene.
