Here's an image from my recent trip to Patagonia. The lenga tree forests of Patagonia are beautiful, especially during autumn.
You can learn more about the story behind the image in my most recent blog post Meat and Potatoes.

I love the colors and dark silhouetted shapes! The sun star seems out of place though, and it grabs my attention too much since it so much brighter than everything else.

This is sweet Ian. Very creative with excellent vision. A study in contrasts and form. Very well conceived and executed.

Great image! Definitely a good comp to come up with in such a forest. I would say this is sort of a centered subject, which I like...

Cool image, Ian. I love the way the main trunk meanders throughout the image. The sunstar is great and really makes this work.

Without the sunstar it wouldn't quite do the trick for me, but the sunstar makes it all work. I'm a little ambivalent about the dark limb that bends across the center of the frame but I think it works well enough and it's a nice change of pace from the more typical "looking up" at the trees shot.
