Spotlight on new growth

I enjoy seeing the fresh new growth emerging from plants in the spring. This tiny new leaf was photographed in a woodland area near my house. The setting sun was shining through the trees and backlighting the leaf which I thought set off the detail and color beautifully. Not sure of the ID of the plant it was growing on; however, it was not poison ivy!

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/22 for 1/5 sec. ISO 400. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

I really like the back lighting on the leaves. They stand out from the background very well. Nice comp. also.

Nice backlighting on this Carolyn. I would like to see this with the stem a little lighter

Nice back-lighting and color in this! This reminds me of Witch-hobble/Hobblebush that I used to see in New Hampshire. Scientific name is Viburnum ?..

Fine flow, detail and color. This does a wonderful job conveying the warmth and dynamic feeling of early spring.
