Good timing, Barry! I like the color contrast between the red cliff and the blue of the clouds. The river is also a nice element. Of course, the lightning bold adds a lot to the scene and I've toyed with a screen crop to a pano format to emphasize all of these elements a bit more. I'm not sure it's necessarily an improvement, but I'm throwing it out for you to consider.

Dramatic scene Barry but might be tempted to bring up some of the details in the shadows.

I think this is a great image. The cliff and river bed all lead the eye into the image. I think a pano crop would strength the image because it would put much more emphasis on the strongest elements in the image.

Barry:
The orange cliff, river and blue sky looks great on their own but the lightning bolt makes this special. :toast:

Interesting combo of elements, Barry. Even if there were no lightening, the red/blue contrast would have lots of appeal.

Dramatic image. Agree the shadow areas are somewhat distracting away from the lightning, maybe lighten the foliage a little.
