Parrot Tulips

Another taken with Catherine on the Tulip outing.. Still dealing with dappled light here.. I decided to darken the bottom of the frame some - added a little vibrancy to deep colors at the top. Used a little blur around the edges to bring attention to the inner flowers. I hope this works a little better than the last. Overall I like elements in most of my photos this season, but they all contain elements I do not like. Many of these I am working through Color Efex 4.0 to play with some different effects.

Very nice vibrant colors. Nice composition but IMO square format would be better. I'd like to see front 3 tulips more in foccus. The light is excellent. :toast:

Ned - Really like the colors on these Tulips - I might try some of my abstracts on these if I had access to these varieties.

The In Focus and Out of Focus Elements are slightly confusing - as presented, for me a crop from the top strengthens the photo.

Ned:
A very colorful variety of the tulip and the dapple light is nice. I agree with others about a tighter crop and also trying the balance of in and out of focus element. Like to see a little more focused area for the eyes to rest on.

Hi Ned :wavey: I find the back OOF roses are not OOF enough.. and the front ones could sharper....... what i dont understand, is you shot at F2.8, which should have made the back ones much softer. perhaps your focus was between the 2 rows of tulips .... better luck next time
