Banana flower from Singapore gardens. Banan flower is an excellent source of fibre in our diet. Banana flower is also very good source of minerals such as magnesium, iron and copper, high quality protein as well as other nutriens and antioxidants which have several health benefits.

Impressive and interesting flower. Looks alien or prehistoric in this comp. The orange color really stands out from the green BG. I'd like to see a little more room around the flower, but the comp does emphasize the impressiveness of the flower.

They are strangely fascinating flowers. I have only seen them in Hawaii, but was compelled to get a few shots of them.
I like your comp with the diagonal line, and the fill light. Well done!

Miro - Very commonly used as a food item where I come from in India. My mom used to say its good for eliminating the ingested hairs if any - though I don't know if there is any evidence for that.

Nice angled entry into the frame for the Banana Flower and the blurred background certainly helps isolate it nicely. I would not mind a bit more space all around the frame.

Nice capture. My comments...

<> Yes to either a wider shot to incorporate the whole flower or achieved in cropping, at the top and bottom.

<>I'd like to see just a little more brightness around the tip of the flower.

<> Background. I would like to see a little more blur effect. Also, I would clone the few small white spots that appear on the right side in the background.

Fascinating image. Unusual colors and textures and, of coarse, subject. I like it

Interesting subject, like the diagonal comp, POV, & details I see Miro..
I agree with the suggestion for just a bit more space all-around :toast:

Miro:
I have seen this in HK but did not know you could eat them. Do you have a recipe?

I like the POV of this interesting flower. The repost looks better with the added space. Also a diffuser on your flash would dampen the harsh shadow on the lower petal.

Must see if I could lay my hands on one of this as I think it would be a very interesting Xray subject.

Hi Miro :wavey: Sorry i missed this one  A very interesting plant, perfectly photographed, the vibrant color and detail show off this plant very well, if we eat the flower, what happens to the banana, can we save it?
