This lonely Greater White-brested Goose has just lost her mate of the past four years I have observed and photographed their behavior. Beautiful creations from above and killed for what reason?

Rick, it looks like you had some tough shooting conditions, causing areas in the sun to blown out. The bird isn't quite sharp in the larger version. It is a sad story though. Your second photo is very nice though, given the subject. FYI, this is a domesticated goose, not a Greater White-fronted Goose.
