Last But Not Least

Some of the last tulips of the season found at Roosengaarde, Skagit Valley, WA.

Not many tulips left, and I was the only one in the garden. But it was well worth it for the peaceful afternoon. The tulips looked great under a large cedar tree with filtered sunlight.

D700, 105 micronikkor, cpl; handheld, f4, 1/320, ISO 800, +0.67EV. Breezy.

Catherine I like the DOF-POV choice with the FG in sharp focus and good lighht and the BG somewhat blurred. One's interest is pointed directly into the nicely lighted flowers as a result. Well done..

Really lovely tones, Catherine - delicate and natural. As Miro has said, the dof choice is first rate, and the composition works so well around that single flower with the front petal missing.

One of the nicer varieties I have seen. Perseverance paid off with great light and beautiful subjects!

Catherine - This looks like a painting. I am sure if you apply some water color/oil painting effect, this might make for an excellent digital art photo as well.

Beautiful shot Catherine, My tulips are not even in bloom yet so I am a little jealous. I love the one in the middle I hope somewhere in your files you have a close up of that one . Just love the way the pedals have opened and reviled the center. :toast:

Catherine
Lovely flowers and comp. Like the gradient light; even better when the top bright part is off the screen when I scroll down.

Excellent. Love how the tulip with the exposed stamen adds some forground interest. :toast:

A nice group Catherine. I might crop just a sliver off the top of the shot.

Catherine: What a joyful looking bunch. I like the open bloom front and center especially. I like this very much as is and can also see it cropped from the top to eliminate the bright BG area. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

I like your choice of muted side lighting. The softness of it brings out the tulip petals nicely.
