Prim and Proper

The complete opposite of the last post. I don't know if this is the same bird as we seem to have at least seven or eight females around this year (maybe more judging by the rapidity with which the feeders are emptied). It was raining this morning, so I opened the porch door and shot from shelter-it made a pretty decent blind.

1DIV, 500mm ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow on RRS legs, f8, 1/125, iso 640, Av mode with no compensation. Cropped to 4.9 MP from the horizontal. Normal processing in CS5.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Dennis, the light and detail on this are great. I also like the clean bg and diagonal perch. I would be tempted to remove the oof branch on the bottom.

I like this a lot Dennis. A very simple composition with good detail. I do notice a very small dust spot above and to the left of the hummers head- a very small nit however-really nice job .

Fabulous detail in the feathers against a very clean bg make for a lot of impact with this image. Nice work, Dennis.

Excellent colors and details. Very nice lean composition with harmonic BG. I also like very much something like spider web on top of the bill. TFS.

Gerat comp and exposure detail. I agree with Cheryl on the slight limb image in bottom center.

Prim and proper fits this shot perfectly, Dennis. A nice quiet pose for a hummer. I think the spider web adds to the quiet feeling, too.
