Really trying to perfect this shot. My first attempt lacked detail to some point. This one seems better there and I love the open mouth and flying sand but wish for better HA'S . I still like it.
Canon 40D 300mm 2.8L IS lens w/2x
ISO 400 f9@1/1600
HH cropped about 15-20%

I like it too! More details in the whites than your last one and the flying sand is awesome! Sharon

Great shot & nature story. Not much wrong with the whites - one can become obsessive about whites,

Beautiful exposure and action, Cheryl. Detail looks fine to me. I'm drawing a blank on HA's? For what does it stand?

Nice expressions. I too like the implicit motion in the flying sand and raised wing.

Nice timeing, Cheryl! This is kinda funny in a way - reminds me of how the umpire and manager argue in baseball.

Thanks for the acronym clarification, Cheryl. I actually prefer them the way they are. The interaction is more important than eye contact-you only get that from actors.

They clearly have a lot to talk about. Or did one just tell a joke? It is hard to tell. I love shots that evoke an emotional response in me. This is surely one of those. good work!
