Glow on the Narrows

I was very excited to finally get in here recently, as I went to Zion in 2006 but after doing the Subway top down, my knee was shot for the narrows the next day.

Ended up spending 10 hours in here with Daniel Ewert, as we hopped back and forth waiting for the light to change.

Hands down one of the most beautiful images of the Narrows I've seen. Great glow. Very nicely done.

Gorgeous capture Paul, no matter how many I see from Zion, I am always excited to look at the detail in each of them!.

Great glow on the far walls. I like how the rocks show through the water. Well done.

Some great light, Paul! H2o exposure a bit too long for my tastes, but not a deal-breaker

A fairly classic viewpoint, but it's certainly a wonderful glow. It would have stopped me in my tracks I'm sure.

This IS one of the better shots from that location. I like the deep, rich colors, and of course the lighting. TFS!

Just wonderful. Again one of the better shots from here. And really like glow and how the water draws you right to it. Gotta get myself in here someday.

Love the beautiful warm colors of the rocks in the creek and the walls in the background. Real nice image Paul.

Paul,

What, some newly discovered canyon in Florida?

This is a wonderful image from the Narrows. Excellent job retaining just enough detail in the shadows - enough that I wouldn't nitpick, yet still mention it. ;-) Beautiful light and glow on the far wall and I like the balance between the stream, rocks, walls and light. Excellent job.

I like the warmth of the light off the walls matched by the underwater rocks. SS is a little slow for my tastes, but a very nice shot nonetheless. The combination of warm and cool in the bottom of the left wall is neat.

Thanks guys...I agree on the shutter speed. I usually took a iso800 shot for the water but forgot on this comp. So even my dark bracketed shot is 2 seconds.

Beautiful glowing light. I don't mind the slow shutter speed at all. Works for me.

You've captured some sweet light here in the narrows. I love the way the glow visually projects from behind the corner to the upper reaches of the image. Also, very good use of the foreground rock to anchor the foreground.

Wonderful image Paul. The water flow near the darkest rock cliff is maybe a little too contrasty for my tastes, but that's being super picky. Processing these shots isn't easy and you did a splendid job. This is really solid - about what I'd expect from you.

The light and texture of the walls makes it look like they are on fire. And that goes so well with the flowing water in this composition.

Beautiful work Paul. I like your fg rock arrangement and the way my eye gets drawn from there up into the light.
