Puffin

I travelled up to Machias Seal Island in Northern Maine this past weekend to photograph Puffins. For any who have the opportunity to do this trip, do it! There were over 6,000 puffins, 3,000 razorbills, as well as common murres and arctic terns on the island. Hope you like the photo, as there are many more to come! Comments and critiques are much appreciated.

Very nice composition. I like the pose and where the Puffin is positioned on the rock. Nice background and the colors on the Puffin look great.

Cam, I went to Machias Seal Island for two days in June, 2011. I had a blast photographing the puffins and it sounds like you did too. I love all the beautiful colors in this photo and the position of the bird. I can't wait to see more...

I have never seen a Puffin except in photos and am always amazed at the colors and shapes. Good stuff!
