The beast later caused $3000.00 worth of hail damage to my wife's car. Just took it in this morning for the repairs.
Once again, the glow in my living room from the highest clouds is what drew me out of the house to look.
Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

21 commentsQuite a cool storm cloud to look at.
If I crop out the dark clouds, it wouldn't be ominous.
I like the dark so maybe just a little off that...not to much.

Either way.. great shot...
Wow $3K damage... good luck.
I love this--just awesome!
Awesome and yes, ominous clouds! Interestingly, I don't have the same thoughts about colors as I did in your previous version. It seems fitting here, including, and do I see some green in the darker midtones? Regardless, I'm really loving this one. Very powerful.
Sorry about the car!

Dean and Lon, yes there is green in those mid-tones. Like in the movie, "Twister," when he said, "It's going green!"
As Dean says, it's always an idicator of hail in the clouds. Lon, I changed the wb for this one for a more natural look, and to make sure the green came through.
Stan, you are hilarious. I didn't get them storm chasing, as my family and I were squealing in the bathroom when it hit.
I like the image a lot. IMO (yes, another I-M-O), the dark clouds are a bit too dark. Just a tad---I do love the dark, intense mood here, so I'm not suggesting a large change. I was going to mention that a slight crop may be nice, but the comp is so perfect as is, I'm not so sure... Anyways, there's yet another thought on this pic. Glad you caught this incredible moment---sorry about the car...
"ominousity" --Now that is a good word! Beats ominousness.
