Tranquil Basin

The Gibbon makes its way through Norris Geyser Basin on it's way to join the Firehole and then into the Madison River. I managed to pull off two good shots from this area that evening.

As always I appreciate any comment you may have. This is a composite of two raw images.

Beautiful Dean! The blue grass and blue water make a peaceful image, processing looks great to me.

Like the detail in the larger version. A real peaceful spot. Maybe the blues are a little over sat. for me, but they do work well against the yellows of the grass. Must have been a great trip.

Another beautiful shot from here, Dean. I like the slight texture caused by the current in the water in the larger version, and both the light and the processing look excellent. I have fished the Firehole before and no doubt will be fishing it again this year when I'm out that way..there is always ospreys hanging out in the trees above the river, usually making a fool out of me

Dean,

Tranquil indeed. A beautiful and peaceful landscape. Makes me want to pull out the old rod and reel... ;-)

I would agree with Harry that I think the blues are pretty saturated. Yes, seen in the log and the log looks good in the repost, but the sky to me is still pretty strong. Just my own view though and of course different monitors could be in play too.

A beautiful image. Takes me right there.

One of my favorite areas of the park. Beautiful scene. Well done. The blues do look quite saturated to me but I think that Tom Till has proven that saturated colors sell.

The texture and light here are extraordinary. Getting to this point in a computer takes a lot of skill. I'm not downplaying Nature, only acknowledging your skills on many different levels. Gorgeous image.

A nice comp with very pleasing light. Does look a tad oversaturated, though.

The repost is better on the blue, and I like the exposure for the water and reflections. Lovely shot of a very tranquil scene. :toast:

What a beautiful scene! A place I would just love to sit back and enjoy! Wonderful looking light and the repost looks especially nice. Maybe just a bit too much blue saturation yet, but it is a wonderful scene with such a nice feel! :toast:
