Recent rains have finally brought a little water into the inlet canal at Cheyenne Bottoms, central KS. Last night's winds were calm, and this Great Blue Heron was unusually calm also. It stood here for several minutes, until I restarted the car. This is highly unusual around here for this species. 7D, ISO 400, f/8, 1/1000, 300mm with small crop. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

I love the simplicity of this image. The detail in the heron is spot on and the serenity of the pose - awesome.

Good detail and position of the GBH. You could almost flip the photo, there is so little difference.

These birds around here are notional; sometimes, they will fly at the least provocation and sometimes they will do what yours did.

Nice setting and composition with the reflection. There are some issues with the contrast/sharpening and some halos that would be worth fixing.

Here is a redo that hopefully fixes the issues brought up by Richard. I think most were caused by oversharpening while preparing for the web.
